Why We Love It
Yacht portraits were often commissioned by their proud owners, but only a few examples of Archibald Cary Smith’s wonderful works are available today. Beyond his skill as an artist, Smith was also a brilliant yacht designer. His paintings are technically accurate, but what sets him apart is his ability to marry that precision with beautifully captured light and to portray a sense of the craft’s easy movement through the sea.
