Richard Rossello was born and raised on Cape Cod. He received his BA from Colgate University and his MBA from Wharton at the University of Pennsylvania. After a stint working for CBS, Inc, he spent the next twenty-five years of his business career developing and operating more than a dozen restaurants in Pennsylvania and Delaware. In 2001, on his forty-eighth birthday he had a heart attack. While recovering from the resultant surgery he decided to switch careers and pursue his true passion — American art. Partnering with a longtime friend, Avery Galleries opened in Bryn Mawr. For over two decades, Avery has had the good fortune to assist in building some of the country’s most important collections and has forged relationships with many major museums around the nation. He tells his children that, “It took me forty-eight years to decide what I wanted to be when I grew up!” Richard lives near the gallery on Philadelphia’s Main Line with his wife Bonnie. They have two grown children and two spectacular grandsons.
