Qingsheng Gao is a Chinese artist who received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from China Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) and her Master of Fine Arts from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA). Her work deals with reflections, by creating a balance between unreality and reality to explore her relationship with her surroundings. In the artist's own words: "Reflections are like a bridge between what I can see and things beyond: a butting up of reality and illusion. Reflections create an enriching blur to my vision as I wade through my own consciousness: a window with foliage as an entrance into another space; an illusion of interior and cityscape while something looms between; or a conversation through time, between the past and the present."
