Why We Love It
As a noted marine painter, Norton created many such scenes of ships at sea or families at leisure on the beach. Sensitively painted with loose and fluid brushwork, these images both reflect Norton’s interest in capturing effects of light and atmosphere and also exemplify his deep-rooted love of the sea.
We were able to purchase a nice group of William E. Norton paintings directly from the estate. This work is part of that group. These paintings are fine examples of Norton’s signature impressionist style. They are handsomely framed and priced advantageously for new and seasoned collectors alike.
